Bratislava transforms into a winter wonderland at Christmas, a completely different city to what would see at any other time of the year!
The official Bratislava Christmas market will occur from November 24th – December 21st 2022.
The official market is spread across the city with the heart of it being in the main square (Hlavné námestie), however, there are smaller more niche markets covering the city such as a Zero Waste Christmas Market and more!
Have a taste of tradition with the Slovakian food and drinks on offer such as:
· Grog – Hot rum and spices
· Mead – Hot honey wine
· Loksa – A savoury pancake
· Hriatô – Hot fruit brandy, caramel and cracklings
· Trdelnik – A sweet pastry with cinnamon, cocoa, vanilla or nut flavourings
And so much more!
There’s a variety of stands offering hand-crafted Christmas decorations made of wood or glass in addition to candles, knitwear, wooden toys, hand-painted crafts and handmade jewellery.
Travel like an elf on the Christmas tram illuminated with hundreds of lights. Inside the tram, this year's theme is the biblical story of the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. The tram is free to use for all wishing to travel on it!
