Advertising Sales Manager

Role Title:                   Manager, Advertising

Department:               Commercial

Responsible to:         Commercial & Strategy Director

Dated:                         August 2023

Leeds Bradford Airport is one of the fastest-growing regional airports in the UK, welcoming up to 4 million passengers through our doors every year.  We are committed to employing high-quality people who are ambitious to succeed and support our exciting plans for the future, whilst delivering outstanding service for our customers.

We understand that our employees are our most important asset when it comes to providing the best service possible to our customers. We therefore operate with a ONE TEAM mentality, to enable us to DO THE RIGHT THING and ultimately BE THE BEST in what we do.

What we are looking for:

Advertising Manager – Hybrid Working

We have an immediate need for an experienced Advertising Manager to join our successful Commercial team. The Leeds Bradford® Airport advertising is an in-house function, which has grown strongly since its creation. We are looking for an ambitious, high achiever to join our winning team who makes things happen. In return, you will be rewarded with a generous basic salary with an uncapped annual commission incentive, along with genuine opportunity to grow and build a team underneath.

Leeds Bradford® Airport is located in the heart of the Yorkshire’s golden triangle. As a key contributor to the Leeds City Region, itself the largest economy in the UK outside of London, we have ambitious plans and anticipate that you will be able to grow with us, as we continue on our development journey.

Snapshot of the role:

This role provides a good mix of new business sales generation and existing client management within the advertising sales arena. You will hold full P&L accountability for the advertising sales business here at LBA and will have strong commitment to achieving annual EBITDA targets through the strategic selling and pricing of all media across LBA’s current print and digital advertising estate.

The role will play a fundamental part in a generational redevelopment agenda, with particular focus on the prestigious airport expansion project that will begin to take place this year.

The Advertising Manager will take ownership of the operating cost base for the area and of key supplier relationships at a senior level. You will also look at ways to manage potential collaboration with third party sales providers, such as agency partners, to secure a strong share for LBA of national and international advertising campaigns, as well as supporting the wider Commercial team in the overarching objective to grow LBA’s total passenger number, increase aeronautical yields and increase non-aeronautical yields.

What we are looking for:

First and foremost, we are looking for a skilled salesperson who genuinely loves what they do. Ideally, you will have gained some experience within an advertising sales arena, but this is not essential.

People who have sold within a multisite environment (e.g. Airports, Hospitals, train stations, shopping centres, etc.) are hugely attractive to us.

We are looking for someone who can bring their skills and experience to our LBA family, and use that to not only increase revenue, but also to eventually build a team around them whom they can guide and mentor to become our next best sellers.

As well as first class sales experience, we need someone who will fit into our LBA family. You must be committed to work with your colleagues as ONE TEAM, to always show highest levels of integrity and DO THE RIGHT THING and to genuinely want to BE THE BEST to help our business become one of the leading airports in the UK.

You will ideally live in or around the Yorkshire area and will be able to spend time on site to really understand what we live and breathe, and become one of the faces of Yorkshire’s Airport.

What we will give you in return:

  •        Generous Basic salary with an annual on target incentive commission (UNCAPPED)
  •        Free onsite parking
  •        Electric Vehicle Scheme
  •        Pension scheme
  •        Life Assurance
  •        Brand new shiny, top of the range office (being completed in November 2023)
  •        Cycle to work scheme
  •        Free lounge access
  •        Onsite discounts
  •        Friendly work environment
  •        Employee Assistance programme
  •        Genuine career opportunities
