Airside Operations Unit Supervisor

Role Purpose:

·         Reporting directly to the Head of Airfield Operations, the airside operations supervisor will be responsible for the day to day management of the airside operation.

 

·         To provide Leeds Bradford Airport with a customer focused airside operations environment that is managed effectively in the areas of Security, Safety, Health and the Environment (SSHE) and meets all regulatory requirements.

 

·         Working as part of a small team, the successful candidate will work on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern covering a 24 hour operation. Candidates are also required to have the flexibility to respond to operational issues and cover annual leave.

 

·         LBA requires the successful applicant to access the ‘Critical Part’ at the Airport.  To obtain access the applicant must provide evidence of a continuous five-year work history, they are subject to a basic criminal record check which demonstrates you do not have a criminal record and they successfully complete a General Security and Awareness Training course.


Role Responsibilities:

·         Management of the Safety Management System within the airside environment, including risk assessment and audit of own and third party areas, processes and equipment to ensure compliance with the Airport Compliance Monitoring Scheme (ACOMS).

 

·         Responsible for the implementation of the LBA Wildlife Management Hazard Plan (WMHP) to ensure regulatory compliance.

 

·         To undertake runway surface inspections and produce Runway Condition Reports in line with Global Reporting Format procedures (GRF)

 

·         To undertake airside inspections; identify repair and maintenance requirements and

ensure remedial work is undertaken as efficiently as possible with minimum

disruption to operations.

 

·         To ensure the optimum daily use of the aircraft parking stands with coordination with the airport terminal team for gate allocation.

 

·         Carry out incident investigation and categorisation in line with Leeds Bradford airport safety management systems.

 

·         Responsible for the maintenance of all airfield grounds including grass

Cutting, spraying, chain harrowing and perimeter fence line clearance as detailed in

the LBA Wildlife Management Hazard Plan.

 

·         To respond to extreme weather risk assessments and co-ordinate the preparation of

surfaces including checks on equipment stowage, provision of anti/de-icing  

pavements and snow clearing.

 

·         To provide airside training for all airside users to include manoeuvring area

practical driver training and assessment.

 

·         To review  Operational Works Instructions and supervise airfield work in  

progress including the co-ordination and escorting of contractors, safety briefings, 

etc.

 

·         Responsible for actions detailed in the Leeds Bradford airport Emergency plan.

 

·         To ensure the removal of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and co-ordinate clearance of airside spillages and disposal of contaminants from runway/taxiway apron sweeping.

 

 

·         To monitor and report on Service Level Agreements for Ground Handling Service

Providers.

 

·         Administration of commercial activity schemes e.g. parking scheme for Ground

Support Equipment, Airside Vehicle Permits etc.


What we are looking for:

·         Experience in working in an airside environment

·         Hold a valid UK driving licence with the ability to hold an airside driving permit.

·         Good working regulatory knowledge of EASA, CAA, ICAO and HSE.

Aviation Fire Fighter / Airside Operations Coordinator (Dual Role)

We are looking to recruit ambitious, enthusiastic and proactive individuals to work across both the fire operations and airside operations teams in a dual skilled role.


Role Purpose:

·         To ensure Fire Operations remains effectively resourced, we are now seeking to appoint qualified Aviation Fire Fighters who hold a valid certification of competence and ideally an LGV qualification to initially join the airside operations team. The successful candidate will train and maintain competency as an aviation fire fighter alongside fulfilling airside operational responsibilities.

 

·         Reporting directly to the Head of Airfield Operations, the successful candidate will work within the airside operations team initially and will be responsible for the day to day compliance of the airside operation.

 

·         Fire Operations requires you are fit on entry in accordance with current Medical standards for fire fighters at Leeds Bradford Airport. You are required to conduct six monthly fitness testing to maintain fitness for the role. Regular ongoing competency training to include; practical and theoretical elements with mandatory attendance required at both our external Revalidation of Competence (ROC) dates scheduled every spring and autumn.

 

·         Working as part of a small team, the successful candidate will work on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern whilst working in airside operation or a 24 hour shift if working in Fire operations covering a 24 hour operation. Candidates are also required to have the flexibility to respond to operational issues and cover annual leave.

Commercial Finance Analyst

Purpose of the Role

To join our growing Commercial Finance team, supporting the Head of Commercial Finance to deliver commercial insight to support business growth

Corporate

  • To ensure that the Finance Team is supported in delivering the overall team objectives.

 

  • To represent the airport with all key stakeholders in order to establish and maintain an outstanding reputation for the highest possible standards in all aspects of the department.

Key responsibilities

·         Creating and producing regular reporting of KPIs of the whole business to support management decisions with a key focus on passenger numbers and revenue streams.

·         Providing commentary on key trends including passenger numbers, spend per head, ATV etc.

·         Taking ownership of headcount reporting and working with the business to understand any areas of challenge

·         Building and implementing data analytic/BI tools using Access or Qlik to provide detailed trend analysis on current year trends, vs. prior year, budget and forecast

·         Improving current 5 Year financial plan model through automation and simplification, to allow ease of use, sensitivity modelling and integration with the budget / forecast models

·         Supporting the quarterly forecasting process, from building quarterly model using robust data through to business partnering

·         Business partnering with Finance and non-Finance colleagues

·         Working with our IT team to support the data strategy roadmap specifically through adoption and use of Access Dimensions within the Finance team

  • Support budgeting, forecasting and longer-term strategic planning across the company
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of reporting and making improvements to ensure all reporting is timely

What we are looking for:

·         Advanced Excel is essential including strong financial modelling skills and report building experience

·         Knowledge of Qlik, Access or other data analytics software skills

Aviation Security Officer

We are currently recruiting for 2023 both full time and part time Aviation Security Officers to join our team and have the following working options available from January 2023:

Permanent Full Time 40 hours - working a roster pattern of 4 days on 2 days off (consisting of early shifts starting from 0300 / 0400hrs and afternoon shifts starting anytime from 1100hrs - Salary £20,856

Permanent Part Time 21 hours - working a roster pattern of 4 days on 2 days off (consisting of early shifts starting from 0300 / 0400hrs and afternoon shifts starting anytime from 1200hrs - Salary £10,949

This is a customer facing role in which you will be required;

·         To carry out full and effective searches of baggage and airport supplies

·         To carry out full and effective searches of people

·         To carry out full and effective searches of vehicles

·         Undertake patrols of the airport terminal & grounds

·         To control access into restricted areas of the Airport

·         Check identification or travel documents for all passengers, staff and airport users requiring access to restricted areas

·         Deal with on-site security incidents with the team

·         Operate the x-ray equipment to screen all luggage for both the cabin and hold including other items being carried into             restricted areas

Security Trainer

 Role Purpose 

Reporting to the Security Training Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of all Aviation Security Training at LBA, ensuring compliance with the National Aviation Security Training Programme (NASTP), National Aviation Security Programme (NASP)and LBA Security Standards and Training Quality Framework. 

Principal Accountabilities 

Corporate 

  • To assist the Security Management Team in delivering corporate strategy in relation to aviation security to ensure all passengers receive a consistently high quality service to create an atmosphere which encourages commercial spend and generate repeat business. 

Operational 

  • To assist the Security Management Team by delivering operational standards for security training which meet the regulatory requirements and complement the business strategic objectives. 
  • To build and maintain effective working relationships with all staff both internally and externally. 

Aviation Security  

  • To create, update training materials and media, deliver Security and Corporate training as required by the Security Training Manager in accordance with the DfT legislation and business objectives and to provide training to external companies where required. 
  • To ensure the standard of security training remains effective and fully compliant with the relevant EU/ Department for Transport (DfT) Directions and the relevant training syllabus contained within the NASP. 
  • Implement and maintain the LBA security training programme
  • Conduct all mandatory and non-mandatory security training and annual refresher training as required whilst performance managing failure
  • Ensure accurate training records are maintained and to provide reports and statistics to the Security Training Manager as required
  • To ensure that the training resources are maintained and available as required
  • To provide advice and support to the wider Airport community regarding training or compliance with security regulations and procedure
  • To provide support, if required, to the Security Training Manager in regulatory audits and inspections
  • Where external non-compliance is identified, support the Security Training Manager in investigations and recommend corrective action where necessary and perform checks to ensure rectification processes are in place and working effectively
  • Where internal non-compliance is identified, carry out remedial action and provide feedback as part of the Airport’s rectification response to the regulator as required
  • To coordinate, collate and where necessary, to undertake, assessment checks on Officer standards
  • To support the improvement of standards and development of skills within the security operation through monitoring, overt and covert training and coaching
  • To undertake the collection and dissemination of performance monitoring data to DfT and to use this data to provide remedial training or action for individuals where necessary.
  • To provide feedback and remedial training following covert testing and to ensure actions are recorded onto a tracker
  •  In conjunction with the Security Training Manager oversee EU/ DfT mandatory threat image recognition training delivered via e-learning 
  • When required deliver specific training related to the installation of new technology and/or procedures
  • To maintain personal competency by attendance at DfT mandatory courses
  • Working on initiative and to be proactive in forward planning, delivering fast paced responses to tight deadlines
  • To carry out any other duties as may be reasonably expected

Skills/ Knowledge/ Competencies

  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulatory requirements

Duties

·         To prepare, cook and deliver food in accordance with the agreed menu and Lounge Operating Procedures.

·         Follow recipes and/or product directions for preparing and cooking all varieties of foods.

·         Operate a variety of kitchen equipment.

·         To ensure the food offering is presented to a high standard.

·         Maintain stock levels, receive delivery of supplies, ensure stored correctly, rotate and maintain.

·         To assist with stock counts and complete the appropriate documentation.

Maintenance Engineer (Multi Skilled)

Role Purpose:

  • Reporting directly to the Senior Maintenance Engineer, the Maintenance Engineer will play a key role assisting in maintaining and repairing new and existing assets within the terminal and outlying properties. 
  • The post holder shall take a hands on approach to ensure LBA can deliver an outstanding passenger experience through continuous improvement and maintenance of the current assets.
  • It will be the post holder’s responsibility to ensure all statutory maintenance and maintenance of the standards required as a UK CAA Approved Maintenance Organisation are upheld.
  • Working as part of a small team, the post holder will work on a 3 on 3 off shift pattern, consisting of 2 earlies (05:00-16:00) and 1 late (08:00-19:00). Candidates are also required to have the flexibility to be on-call, during their shift set, for any business critical issues and occasionally cover annual leave.
  • LBA requires the successful applicant to access the ‘Critical Part’ at the Airport.  To obtain access the applicant must provide evidence of a continuous five-year work history, they are subject to a basic criminal record check which demonstrates you do not have a criminal record and they successfully complete a General Security and Awareness Training course.

Role Responsibilities & Main Duties:

  • Maintain and repair the HVAC services and fixtures associated with air handling units, single split AC units, VRF system’s & DX system’s within the airport terminal and outlying properties.
  • Inspection and planned maintenance of the systems in line with the manufacture’s guidelines & compliance.
  • Be involved and be expected to input into a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks ranging from plumbing, electrical, joinery, upkeep of baggage handling systems (including motors and belts) and other more general building repairs / maintenance.
  • Complete works in line with PPM programme along with a mixture of reactive maintenance and project work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Update and maintain equipment maintenance documentation, logs and produce fault reports and record events in accordance with data capture requirements.
  • Taking hands on approach when required to expedite and the restoration of any systems in the event of loss or impairment of normal service and to prioritise such work in favour of safety related systems.
  • Support the Head of Engineering and deputies when requested.  
  • Flexible attitude on working hours covering leave and call out for major issues.
  • You will take hands on approach to create a first class service, always striving to improve asset availability, performance and quality resulting in an improved passenger experience.

In addition to the above responsibilities and tasks, which the job normally entails, you may, from time to time, be required to undertake additional or other duties as necessary to meet the needs of the company’s business on either a temporary or a permanent basis.

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of PMO, the Senior PMO Analyst will provide project management support in a portfolio of projects, identified as part of the 5 year strategy.  This will include involvement of the planning activities, risks and issues management, change control, document and configuration management, monitoring and coordinating tasks, negotiating and conflict management, and representing the Head of PMO where necessary.

The nature of the job demands that the job holder has strong project management skills and the drive to deliver results. It is essential that they can analyse a detailed level of project data and information and be able to distil from this the key project information & decisions that need to be made and have both the verbal and written communication skills to drive appropriate action.

The Senior PMO Analyst’s prime responsibility is to ensure that together with the Head of PMO, assigned projects produce the required deliverables within the defined quality, time and cost constraints.  This should be achieved by appropriate adherence to LBA’s standard project management methodology (e.g. PRINCE2) and best practice within the profession, involving the production of plans, documentation and guidance for project teams throughout the project lifecycle and ensuring all organisational procedures are adhered to.

Ideally the job holder will have relevant project management and PMO experience with a very promising track record and the hunger to really take their career to new heights. Ideally, they will have experience within a growing and changing environment.  It’s a varied role. You will provide analysis that underpins decisions, offer guidance and advice on project processes, manage our weekly and monthly report cycles and maintain financial controls.

Operational

-  Must have a clear understanding of an End-to-End Project Lifecycle

-  Must have worked in a Prince2 environment or similar

-  Must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of successfully controlling and delivering a number of projects in a complex business.

-  Liaise with functional business groups to scope project requirements and ensure best practice is adopted and interdependencies are recognised/optimised.

-  Control business projects to agreed time/cost/deliverable targets.

-  Responsibility for ensuring sign off at each stage of the project

-  Ensure compliance is adhered to against legal, regulatory, policy and best practice requirements within any given project.

-  Support any project related Testing (ST/SIT/UAT/Regression) where required

-  Responsibility for ensuring the integrity of LBA’s Project methodology is maintained.

-  Contribute to a central repository of documented business processes for use in any future project activities.

-  Responsible for producing and maintaining MS Project plans

-  Management of any project related Risks, Issues and Change Requests

-  Strong MS Project and Excel skills.

-  Support the key stakeholders in providing appropriate management controls for the overall portfolio, including:

Experience & expertise:
