In January, we held our second annual job fair in the terminal to showcase around 300 seasonal summer job opportunities with Leeds Bradford Airport and a variety of other companies based here on site.
The event was a huge success, with over 730 people attending; 581 of which were actively seeking work at LBA.
Exhibiting business partners included Jet2.com, World Duty Free, Swissport and several retail outlets at the airport with operational and customer service vacancies available. Roles including Cabin Crew and Baggage Handling were discussed.
The recruitment drive comes as Leeds Bradford Airport recorded its busiest ever year in 2016, and prepares for a busy summer season of 2017. More than 2,300 people are already employed at LBA, contributing hugely to the regional economy and providing great career opportunities.
Emily Bramley, Passenger Services Manager at LBA, commented: “It was excellent to see so many jobseekers at the 2017 fair, each with a diverse range of skill sets and experience. We are all preparing for a very busy summer here at LBA in 2017, and we now have some fantastic candidates in touch with us to help contribute to our ongoing growth and success.
“The airport is an exciting place to work, there’s a buzzing atmosphere and every day is different. I’d like to say a huge thanks to everybody who came along on the day, it was great to hear all of the fantastic conversations about job opportunities ahead of this summer.”
