Up, Up and Away

The government announcement of the Heathrow Airport runway expansion was welcomed greatly by Leeds Bradford Airport, as this news has a great positive impact upon our region.

We will now work closely with Heathrow to gain the necessary cross-party support over the coming 12 months. Our ambition is to see the government move swiftly so that this much needed investment within the aviation industry becomes a reality as soon as possible.

Tony Hallwood, Aviation Development Director at LBA, said: “The Heathrow expansion has the capacity to further boost business based in Yorkshire; whether they travel aboard or are attracting investment into the UK.  Accessibility to key markets would be much improved by Heathrow’s extra capacity to provide further connectivity to Leeds Bradford Airport.”

LBA currently has a thrice daily flight with British Airways, connecting passengers to the capital and worldwide with ease and convenience. In December, we will be marking the fourth anniversary of this fantastic connection.
